Management of Aphasia-Aspects on Rehabilitation

Abstract

Aphasia was earlier dealt with in the fields of neuropsychology and speech pathology. Recently, in clinical medicine, there is also an increasing interest for aphasia by doctors in rehabilitation medicine. This is very important, as the best treatment of aphasia can only be given in a setting with good rehabilitation resources because the main cause of aphasia is Cerebral Vascular Accident(CVA, 85%).

This paper is to introduce articles dealt with aphasia, particularly on evaluation process to aid physician's evaluation for presence of communication disorder and collect information useful in referral note, assess communication levels for staff information and to collect data to measure change.
