Detrusor-external sphincter dyssynergia (DSD) has been known as a most common cause of unbalanced neurogenic bladder in spinal cord injured. DSD can be controlled or treated by antispastic drugs or muscle relaxants and external urethral sphincterotomy. But antispastic drug or muscle relaxant treatment may bt impractical because of too large dose and side effects of the drugs, or long-term treatment. We experienced an excellent effect of bilateral pudendal nerve block using small amount of 7% phenol solution on DSD of neurogenic bladder in a 52 years old paraplegic. |
