A Study on Normal Values of Somatosensory Evoked Potential in Korean Adults

Abstract

By SEP study being comfortable and noninvasive to the patient the entire somatosensory pathway from cutaneous receptor to cerebral cortex can be evaluated, the significance of its clinical application has been increasing. Total 82 (male 58, female 24) normal subjects were tested.

The purpose of this study is to get normal value of early potential latency in Korean normal adults and to correlate conduction latency with individual height by stimulating tibial nerve and sensory dermatomes of L4, L5 and S1 bilaterally.
